Barbecued Spare Ribs
- 4 lb rack of pork ribs
- 3 cups water
- 1 cup soy sauce
- 1 tablespoon plus 1½ teaspoons cornflour
- Place pork ribs in large shallow pan; add water and cover with foil.
- Heat to boiling and simmer for 10 mins. Drain. Mix soy sauce and cornflour.
- Brush on ribs. Continue brushing both sides of ribs with soy sauce mixture
every 10 minutes, allowing mixture to penetrate pork, until mixture is gone.
Barbecue ribs for about 15 – 20 minutes brushing every 3
mins with barbecue sauce.
Barbecue Sauce
- 1 cup water
- 1 cup ketchup
- 3 cup packed brown sugar
- 3 cup vinegar
- 3 cup Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tbsp Celery seed
- 1tsp chile powder
- 1tsp salt
- few drops tabasco
- dash of pepper
Heat all ingredients to boiling then allow to cool.
