Barbecued Spare Ribs

4 lb rack of pork ribs
3 cups water
1 cup soy sauce
1 tablespoon plus 1½ teaspoons cornflour
Place pork ribs in large shallow pan; add water and cover with foil.
Heat to boiling and simmer for 10 mins. Drain. Mix soy sauce and cornflour.
Brush on ribs. Continue brushing both sides of ribs with soy sauce mixture every 10 minutes, allowing mixture to penetrate pork, until mixture is gone.

Barbecue ribs for about 15 – 20 minutes brushing every 3 mins with barbecue sauce.

Barbecue Sauce

1 cup water
1 cup ketchup
3 cup packed brown sugar
3 cup vinegar
3 cup Worcestershire sauce
1 tbsp Celery seed
1tsp chile powder
1tsp salt
few drops tabasco
dash of pepper

Heat all ingredients to boiling then allow to cool.
